The last program designed by Fr. Gabriel Calvo, the FIRES Eucharistic Encounter was born in 2008 through the Apostolic Exhortation of Benedict XVI: “Sacramentum Caritatis”, “Sacrament of Love”. Its objective is to offer the participants a good opportunity to re-discover the “Wonder of the Eucharist”, that is to say, to be firmly convinced that Jesus of Nazareth is really present in the Sacrament of the Eucharist, and with Him, to start living a truly Christian life.
This program is open to anyone who earnestly desires a deeper experiential understanding of the Eucharist. The Steps are based upon Scripture passages. There will be times for listening to testimonies, personal reflection, times of quiet spent in the Presence of the Blessed Sacrament, and times to share one another’s experiences in small groups. The two-day program includes Holy Mass and prayers led by a Catholic priest.
